No. 1/60 Rev. 1 and No. 1/65 Rev. 1 preorder information

It's been a longer time coming than we hoped, but as we reach the end of 2019, it's time to re-release the form factors we started with at the beginning of the year: the No. 1/60 and No. 1/65. Much like the TKL release in June, this release is a revision to the original. While the plates are compatible, no other case components are. We've taken the lessons learned from a year of designing and producing keyboards and wrapped them up in this revision.

Preorder overview

We are running both preorders for the No. 1/60 Rev. 1 and the No. 1/65 Rev. 1 at the same time. For each board, we will produce up to 200 kits with 100 being available for preorder. Additional kits will be sold after preorders are fulfilled.

We expect preorders to be delivered in March-April. If that changes, we'll provide prompt updates. Since we started our first preorder for the No. 2 Rev. 1 in July, we have streamed live updates and answered questions every other week on our Twitch channel. We plan to continue that.

An additional note: We no longer accept PayPal on our store. Please be prepared to pay with a credit or debit card.

Here's how things will go:

1. Preorder Raffle — Preorder slots will be raffled in the same way that we've conducted our past two raffles. For each kit (60% and 65%), two limited windows for entry will open. The No. 1/60 Rev. 1 will be raffled at 10:00am and 10:00pm, and the No. 1/65 Rev. 1 will be raffled at 10:15am and 10:15pm (EST). The entry period will be 3 minutes long. These raffles will happen on Thursday, December 5.
2. General and B-stock Sale — In order to guarantee a-stock units to all preorders, we will order a significant number of extra kits. Most extras, including b-stock, will be sold by an additional raffle sale after preorders have been fulfilled.
3. Vickrey Auction — For both the 60% and 65%, 10 a-stock kits will be sold by auction following preorder delivery and the general sale. The exact date will be announced later. If you want to read more about Vickrey auctions and why we use them, you can check out our blog post here.

Build stream (Nov 26)

We'll be doing a live build stream on November 26th on the Keycult Twitch channel. We'll be building a No. 1/60 Rev. 1. If you're reading this after the stream has happened, we'll upload the VOD as well as a teardown video and typing test on our YouTube channel.
